Back from Oz

In late August I headed to Australia to participate in the International Cup 2008. An Australian Rules Football tournament for the rest of the world. This time 16 teams competed for the trophy. We played against USA, South Africa, China, Great Britain, and Sweden. It went according to AFL's prediction and we finished 11 out of 16. A bit disappointing for us, as we had higher hopes. All in all it was a good experience, and it was great to catch up with mates now living in Oz. I also got the chance to visit the farm I used to work on - a trip down memory lane.

Skiing

Yes! I also got to go on a skiing trip in 2007. The first went down the drain when it collided with moving to a new flat. Bummer. Luckily my friends took pity on me, and decided to a second skiing holiday - even though they really hate skiing!

This time we went to Meribel Mottaret, France. Lovely place, and the weather (as you can see) favored us. Although late in the season we still had enough snow to have fun.

Denmark - Nortern Ireland

I saw yesterdays game at Parken. Disappointing. Denmark should have won it. We created all the chances, but unfortunately we couldn't pry open the Irish defence.

Footy Roundup

The 2006 season is over. Unfortunately the Barracudas didn't qualify for the finals :-( That was a disappointment, but we'll just have to do it better next year. Cudas won the Local League so some victories were had by the team.

The Vikings - the Danish National team - won the Tri-Nations Cup convincingly over Sweden and Germany.

Not only is my footy season over, the AFL finished last weekend with an amazing game between Sydney Swans and West Coast Eagles.

Sheep Station Cup

This weekend The Barracudas are hosting the Sheep Station Cup at Stefan. Looking forward to a good tournament with teams from England, Belgium, Sweden, and Denmark. Defending champions, Reading Kangaroos, from England are attending and so are The Brussels Saints, which we played in Brussels in our pre-season game.

Trip to Australia Cancelled

Bummer. A dark day in my footy history. Due to lack of funds, the trip to the International Cup in Australia in August with the Danish National Team, The Vikings, was cancelled this weekend. Very disappointed.

Denmark v Sweden

Yesterday International between The Vikings and Sweden ended in a rare tie: 98 - 98. First quarter saw Sweden building up a massive lead kicking with the wind. The next three quarters The Vikings fought hard to make back lost ground. The game ended on a dramatic note with the whistle blown at 92-98 and Jesper Gjørup with the ball. Jesper kicked it and it went through for a goal bringing the scores level.

Ireland

The day after tomorrow Emilie and I are off for a short weekend get-away to Ireland. We're spending a few days in Dublin, and the renting a car and driving to the west coast, where we'll stay the night, and then drive back to Dublin and fly home again. Looking forward to a bit of holiday!

JUBIIIII. Champions at last!

I've been with the club for a few years now, and I've always made it to the Finals. The first year I had to go to Scotland just before the Grand Final (which we won), the following two years we lost it to Amager Tigers, but this year we could not be denied. A very very close game against Farum Cats, but we are VICTORIOUS!!

Let the partying commence!

Quarter Finals vs Ålborg Roos

NC Cudas won against Ålborg Roos today! It didn't start off well though. Roos were ahead 2 goals to none in no time, but we got a goal back and from then on, we just went on and on and quickly put some distance between us and the Roos. Semi Finals here we come!
